Breaking Dawn Part 2 box office numbers

‘Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2’ grossed $30.4 million on Thursday night in North America. It is now forecast that the film may gross more than $165 million before the weekend is over.

It is showing in over 4,070 locations just this weekend and if it does reach the projected earnings it will break more than its own franchise record.

This would break the ‘Twilight Saga: New Moon’ record of $142.8 million in its first weekend. ‘Breaking Dawn: Part one’ grossed $138 million in its first weekend. So will the final film take the lead in opening weekend earnings and also break the International 2D opening weekend record?

The Twilight Saga films to date have grossed $1.44 billion internationally. This final film which completes the Twilight Saga has been surrounded by intense cast-relationship controversy, heightened excitement for the finale to the story and the most sensationalised opening out of all of the Twilight films. Needless to say that it is set to surpass ‘Skyfall’, ‘Lincoln’ and ‘Flight’ by more than $100 million this weekend alone.
