‘An Adventure in Space and Time’ in pre-production

‘Dr Who’ has been a cult TV series in the UK since it first aired almost 50 years ago in November 1963.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary next year, the BBC is producing a 90-minute feature-length drama that will look at how the series became to be. The film is being written by Mark Gatiss, the writer behind ‘Dr Who’.

The ‘Dr Who’ series has evolved over the decades and the film will take a look at how William Hartnell managed to become a legend in the eyes of millions of young children.

It is not yet known whether David Tennant will be included in the anniversary film which comes out next year.

Steven Moffat who produces ‘Dr Who’ issued this statement:

“The story of Doctor Who is the story of television, so it’s fitting in the anniversary year that we make our most important journey back in time to see how the Tardis was launched.”
