“The Shield” and “Planet of the Apes” actor Michael Jace faces up to 40 years in prison after being found guilty of second-degree murder.
The actor shot his wife three times during an argument while his two young sons (8 and 5 at the time) partially witnessed the incident. Jace’s wife had been seeking a divorce and he told detectives that he had shot her during a “jealous rage” according to Deadline.
April Jace was shot twice in her legs and once in her back while her husband taunted her with a revolver that belonged to her father, according to the Deputy District Attorney. The actor claimed he wanted to kill himself but wasn’t able to go through with it.
Having starred in more than 80 episodes of “The Shield” and playing roles in several Hollywood productions including “Cradle 2 the Grave,” “Gridiron Gang” and “State of Play,” the actor now faces a possible life sentence at a hearing on June 10th.
