1000 Porn actors face tests

The adult film industry has suffered a major setback this past week after a porn actor tested positive for syphilis.

The multi-billion dollar industry that boasts some of the web's most popular online destinations faces a temporary moratorium to assess the risk to other performers.

It is believed that more than 1000 actors will have to be tested in light of the incident.

CBS reported that there were at least 5 known cases being investigated by the Los Angeles Health Department, however NPR states that 9 cases have now been confirmed in total since last week.

All affected cases are directly related to people working in the industry, however, performers will have wait to be able to go back to work. In order to cure the STD, a penicillin shot has to be administered to each person.
