Arnold Schwarzenegger's family hated his job

Arnold Schwarzenegger's reign as Governor of California came at a higher price than was first expected, and made a profound impact on family life.

If you recall his 1995 hit 'True Lies', directed by James Cameron, Arnie plays a salesman who secretly has a double life as a spy. His workload has a big impact on his daughter and tempts his wife to see another man.

Fast forward to reality, and it would seem that Arnie s children and wife, Maria Shriver, were getting sick and tired of not seeing him for the whole week.

Although this time round Arnie wasn't killing terrorists and preventing a nuclear holocaust in the US, his job as Governor was a family time killer .

Arnold Schwarzenegger on family life

Arnie spent 2 full terms has Governor of California after the historic 2003 Total Recall where incumbent Gray Davis and his girlie men were overthrown.

Speaking with an Austrian newspaper Arnie told reporters "What was much worse was the damage my time as governor did to the family. There is a lot there that needs to be repaired we hate your job, his family told him.

It is not yet clear what direction Arnie will take in the future, but it is clear that family will become very important for a man who was married to his job for the past 8 years. Who can blame him, after all, he was in charge of the world s 6th largest economy.
