Batman v Superman predicted to exceed Box Office expectations

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is predicted to exceed initial Box Office estimates of a $140m weekend.

An upsurge in online interest for the sequel to "Man of Steel" could add an additional $20m to the numbers over the Easter weekend at the US Box Office. The film has so far received a poor response from many critics dubbing it as “incoherent” and a “punishing experience.”

Despite the 33% Rotten Tomatoes rating for Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman,” audiences have given it a more favorable rating. On IMDB early approval for the film averaged a strong 8.1/10 from 24,000 viewers. Over 200 online forum posts from audiences also described how the film exceeded expectations compared with “Man of Steel” which came out in 2013.

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has been shrouded in controversy since it went into production notably due to its casting choice of Ben Affleck. The first publicly released on-set photo of Affleck became an international meme where the actor faced a barrage of relentless abuse for several weeks. It looked like audiences were not going to take Affleck’s casting as Batman seriously, which appeared to be more relevant than the concept of the film itself. The production was also delayed by Warner Bros to May 2016 from its original July 2015 release date. It was then later brought back to March 2016.

The film will be simultaneously released on Friday March 25th in the UK, the US and most major foreign markets. "Dawn of Justice" stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Gal Gadot. The film was penned by Chris Terrio, David S. Goyer and directed by Zack Snyder.
