Bronx World Film, an integral human development project centered on the film industry, is currently preparing the pilot launch of Bronx Film World Cycle 2010, its signature program. Bronx Film Cycle 2010 has lined up a varied representation of works in feature, short and micro formats and all genres from throughout the world. As a permanent feature, the Cycle actively seeks indie and experimental works by local New York City filmmakers. For this year’s edition, it also seeks films by artists of Central American extraction living anywhere in the world. Bronx World Film Cycle specializes in Art House, indie, non-commercial and experimental works in all genres and formats including feature, short, micro, nano and interstitial. Submissions will be judged with particular weight to explorations of the local and idiosyncratic, along with high production values, quality of screenplay, acting and directing, and innovation.

HOW TO SUBMIT: Please send your DVD’s to the following address. Deadline has been extended to May 31st, 2010. Send two (2) copies of each work submitted, preferably in DVD format. If sending subtitled films, please be sure that these have been subtitled professionally, otherwise please send unsubtitled copies. Include your contact information: name, e-mail address, telephones and mailing address. SEND SUBMISSIONS AS EXPEDITIOUSLY AS POSSIBLE.

Bronx World Film, entidad dedicada a un modelo de desarrollo humano centrado entorno a la industria cinematográfica, prepara actualmente el piloto de Bronx World Film Cycle 2010 (Ciclo de Cine Mundial Bronx 2010), evento emblemático de su programación. Bronx World Film Cycle 2010 ya incluye en su programación una variada oferta en formatos largo, corto y micro de todos los géneros y de alcance internacional. Como atributo permanente, el Ciclo también busca activamente obras independientes y activas de realizadores del área de Nueva York. Para esta edición piloto, procura también realizaciones de centroamericanos en cualquier parte del mundo. Bronx World Film Cycle se especializa en el cine no comercial independiente, de ensayo, de autor y experimental, en todos los géneros y formatos (largo, corto, micro, nano e intersticial). Se evaluarán las realizaciones con énfasis particular en la exploración de lo autóctono o idiosincrático, junto a los valores de producción técnica, calidad narrativa y actoral, e innovación.

In addition to our previous post we are also seeking more volunteers for our festival.

Working with a small team of dedicated volunteers the Sexy International Paris FIlm Festival will take place in the last week of June 2010. The festival will take place over four days, Thursday 24- Sunday 27 June.

The festival will be dynamic, with cinema screenings, music and theatre performances interwoven all exploring the themes of our festival. Film festivals all over the world rely on volunteers to ensure the festivals success. SIPFF, also relies on the the hard work of volunteers who are truly passionate about  cinema and being part of something special in Paris.

Programming Assistant – to start immediately
We are seeking a Programming assistant to work alongside our programmers of the festival. Duties will include liaising with filmmakers (emails/telephone), distributors, venues/cinemas and producers.  We would prefer a person who’s long term goal is to programme for a film festival and is long-term based in Paris. Experience with film festivals is also desired.  Must be realistically available, with their own laptop, be committed, have strong attention to detail and has strong initiative.

Guest Co-ordinator
To start beginning of April 2010 – must be based in Paris
We are seeking a Guest Co-ordinator to work with our Sponsorship Manager, Public Relations and direction team to assist our guests of the film festival.
Your role will be vital and extremely important, taking care of the filmmakers, distributors and producers  who’s films have been selected for the festival.  You will be the first point of contact, assisting filmmakers with passes, helping them find accommodation. We are looking for someone who is friendly, extremely organised, can work under pressure, flexible and able to give their time to the festival.

Gallery Co-ordinator – to start immediately
. Must be based in Paris
We are seeking someone with ‘Artworld’ experience based in Paris with an intensive knowledge of galleries in Paris (as an artist, a gallery curator etc)  to  co-ordinate an installation for our festival. Duties will include finding a gallery and working with the artist and gallery to exhibit the work in Paris as part of our festival.  We are seeking somebody who is committed, enjoys a challenge and who wants to be part of a creative and talented festival team. To start as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there is not remuneration.
