Christina Aguilera has joined a host of celebrities in paying tribute to 22-year old Christina Grimmie who was fatally shot after performing at a concert by an armed man.
Christina Grimmie was shot while she was signing autographs for her fans outside a concert venue in Orlando, Florida and it was confirmed earlier today that a 21-year old male possessing two handguns walked up to Grimmie and opened fire.
A heroic effort by Grimmie’s brother prevented further loss of life after he tackled the man to the ground. The suspect eventually shot himself during their struggle according to a Police statement.
Christina Aguilera, who has appeared in several seasons of The Voice and recently launched her first online masterclass, issued this statement:

Aguilera joins a host of stars in paying tribute to Christina Grimmie who was sadly pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital Friday night. News of the Youtube star’s horrific last moment was felt around the world and shocked fans. The hashtag #RIPChristina on Twitter has exceeded 2 million tweets while investigators piece together the motives of the man who travelled to Orlando to carry out the attack.
