Eminem commercial wins Cannes Lions International FestivalBy Iain Alexander / 28 June 2011 / 0 comments You couldn’t have a better spokesman for Detroit than rap star Eminem, and for Chrysler, winning the Cannes Lions International Festival in France last week has made a huge boost to their commercial campaign. Featuring Eminem, Chrysler’s ‘Born Of Fire’ was a big achiever at this year’s festival, leaving with 5 awards, including Best Use of Music (which featured Lose Yourself), Best Direction, Best Script, Best Editing (Bronze) and Best Automotive Commercial. All too recently, rival competitor Audi was accused of ripping off Eminem’s commercial and re-creating his song without permission. Born Of Fire Commercial – Eminem Born Of Fire is a 2 minute commercial starring Eminem that features the values of Detroit and incorporates hit song ‘Lose Yourself’. It shows the core message of Chrysler’s luxury brand and the campaign encourages Americans to buy luxury at home, instead of choosing to import foreign cars.
