"Fantastic Four" is pleasing virtually no one after it received a dire reception from critics and fans.

The new reboot of the "Fantastic Four" franchise from 20th Century Fox has not stunned or thrilled audiences despite taking 6 years to make, with development on the film going back to the summer of 2009.

Directed by Josh Trank and starring Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Jaime Bell and Michael B. Jordan, "Fantastic Four" was meant to celebrate the original comic books, but has ended up with a dysfunctional storyline that's very hard to get into according to a host of critics.

10 years ago "Fantastic Four" directed by Tim Story was considered an average superhero flick but was a commercial success, grossing $154m at the US Box Office with an impressive $56 million opening weekend.

Fast-forward to this year's reboot and there could be trouble ahead for the franchise as a sequel is already slated for release in theaters June 2017 but there's virtually no love for it.

Fantastic Four will be released nationwide on August 7th.
