Film 'Begin again' starring Keira Knightley heading to China

Ivanhoe Pictures and Beijing Galloping Horse Film Co. announced today that John Carney’s film, Begin Again, has been officially approved for a 2014 theatrical release in China. The film premiered at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and made several stops on the festival circuit before opening successfully in several international territories. This includes Korea, where it has now become the highest grossing English language independent film of all time. The release date is forthcoming.

Starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Hailee Steinfeld and Adam Levine, Begin Again is a touching comedy about a dejected music business executive who forms a bond with a young singer-songwriter new to Manhattan.

Ivanhoe Pictures CEO John Penotti stated,

“Ivanhoe Pictures is committed to finding quality films from around the world to acquire for Chinese audiences. Building on the momentum of the film’s win for Best Music at this year’s Shanghai International Film Festival, we could not be more thrilled to now bring BEGIN AGAIN to the general public in China. Its universal themes and stirring music can be appreciated across every culture. Ivanhoe’s team in Beijing and Beijing Galloping Horse are excited to continue the amazing energy that has propelled the film to such great success around the globe.”
