John Boyega shouldn’t be dragged into racism debate

John-Boyega-racism
The whole ‘Black Stormtrooper’ racism debate was entirely manufactured for ratings, and has distracted us from the positive aspects of the new Star Wars trailer.

John Boyega, a 22-year-old British actor is the first cast member to appear in the trailer giving him massive international attention and shows the Star Wars fans this film is going to put an emphasis on new characters.

While actors like Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will play in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, the decision by the film’s producers to release this teaser without them gives a new generation of actors a chance to shine.

Before ‘Star Wars 7’ went into production, Disney did an international casting to find new actors to play several roles in the film. Shot mostly in the UK at Pinewood Studios, ‘Star Wars 7’ was shrouded in secrecy for much of the past year, with only glimmers of what was to come.

However, a few stupid commentators sending out racist remarks shouldn’t be given an ounce of publicity when we’re talking about Star Wars. The race card should not be used to stir up readership because that debate is counterproductive. There’s no prejudice against John Boyega or any other cast member. Star Wars fans know this and I think people should focus on the art. This is something to appreciate and enjoy.
