Hollywood couples separate in June

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are to divorce after 5 years of marriage. This comes just over a week after Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis also called it quits.

Both celebrity couples have been in the spotlight over the past years, and both have decided to part ways in what has become a turbulent month for Hollywood's biggest names.

Tom Cruise infamously announced his love to Katie Holmes on the Oprah Winfrey show by jumping on a couch several years back. It subsequently became the centre of jokes on the web for a few years until new controversies distracted the web. It was no secret that he was in love, and he got married in November 2006. The couple have a 6-year old daughter, Suri. Having been previously married to Nicole Kidman, and Mimi Rogers, this will be Tom Cruise's third divorce. He will now spend time with his children according to a statement released by Amanda Lunberg. Holmes' attorney also issued a statement on her behalf asking for privacy.

It was just over a week ago that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis also called it quits officially after months of turbulence in their private lives. The media spotlight has continued to swirl around both couples in the aftermath of their separation. Johnny Depp is now dating Amber Heard according to Us Magazine.
