Six-time Emmy-nominated comedian Jordan Peele will be voicing the role of Danny in the feature Abruptio which is currently in production. Peele is half of the duo, Key and Peele, and has recently broken into horror as the writer and director of the Blumhouse production, Get Out.
Abruptio follows Les Hackel, a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive while trying to discover the mastermind manipulating the now twisted world around him.
The feature is like no other to date. All of the characters on screen will be performed by life-sized, realistic latex puppets, paying homage to the kind of cinema that the Hensons are known for (Labyrinth, Dark Crystal). A fan of Jim Henson, writer and director Evan Marlowe hopes to pay this art form justice.
Peele joins an incredible cast that includes Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect) and Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore). James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) voices Les.
Kerry Marlowe (Horror House) of HellBent Pictures is producing. The film is anticipated to be released in 2018.
