Kung Fu Panda 2 : Good or more of the same?

Kung Fu Panda 2 hit theatres this week with an all-star voice cast including Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen and even Jean Claude Van Damme.

With a star-studded cast of voices for this animation epic, Kung Fu Panda 2 has more celebrity cameos in it than most blockbuster movies. Does it live up to the hype and the fun of the original version and will it be enough for the kids?

Depending on the success for the restless panda in this sequel, audiences can expect to see Kung Fu Panda 3 cropping up in a few years time.

Jennifer Yuh, who previously worked on the Emmy winning Spawn TV series, directed DreamWorks Animations’ Kung Fu Panda 2.

Reaction to Kung Fu Panda 2

“The first Kung Fu Panda was a great movie that arrived on the expectation of a bad one; Kung Fu Panda 2 is a good movie that arrives on the expectation of a great one. Despite its drawbacks the kids will still love it, it’s still epic and entertaining for adults, and the movie still manages to say something inspired and meaningful” – Screenrant

“Gorgeously animated, the movie is a consistent pleasure to watch, even if the outcome of Po’s adventures feels like a prophesy that any one of us could have foretold.” – WashingtonPost

“Aside from crisp visuals and no-fat way with martial arts movie traditions, the biggest achievement of the "Kung Fu Panda" movies is how they distill their star's very Jack Black-ness down to its most bearable form” – NYDailyNews
