A Kurt Cobain production is coming with a team including Sam Lufti and Courtney Love. They are working together on a production which encompasses Loves’ relationship with Kurt Cobain. The story will give a very personal account of the life she had with him, the band and the time after his death.
At the height of Cobain’s career, with the band Nirvana, he married Love in Feb 1992 and they had a daughter together. Cobain committed suicide in 1994, aged just 27.
According to the New York Daily News, Lufti has said, “[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s.” He was reluctant to say any more.
There is still much speculation about the time leading up to Cobain’s death and what had driven this International Star to take his own life. Hopefully, the Lufti-Love story will gives us all an insight into one of the industry’s most talented musicians and what life was truly like for him.
What drives these successful, talented people to the brink of despair? With a long list of musicians dying in the midst of their fame and too many incidents being connect to substance abuse of some kind, isn’t it time to investigate the reasons why? Each time this happens the world is robbed of someone incredible. How is it possible for so many rising stars to go unnoticed to such an extent that they lose their lives? Perhaps it is time for a film (or documentary) about the industry, what life is like for musicians and what is triggering the loss of so many lives?!
We will keep you posted as the story unfolds.
