Mark Hamill reveals the importance of a Star Wars beard

After 30 years since Mark Hamill graced the screen and excited a generation of fans as Luke Skywalker, the actor has admitted that his return to the franchise was completely unexpected.

Speaking to reporters at the European premiere of 'Guardians of the Galaxy', Hamill debated how the new Star Wars movie had been "a gift" and that filming it in the UK had brought back fond memories.

Hamill also revealed how his facial hair was "contractually obligated" to be in the new Stars Wars film.

Could the reference have given the fans a clue as to what was yet to come? A specific length of beard density? A certain cut to make it come across as a character reference? Who knows what Disney have in mind for his character...
