MasterClass student gets featured on Today Show with James Patterson

A MasterClass student who participated in a Co-Author Competition has been featured on the Today show with New York Times Best Seller James Patterson.

Kecia Bal was selected among the thousands of entrants by Patterson to co-write his next book. After being selected as the grand prize winner by MasterClass, she went along with Patterson to speak on the Today Show about their new upcoming project.

Launched just last year, MasterClass offers in-depth online courses taught by world renowned professionals from actors to singers, writers, and sports icons.

Speaking on the Today Show, Bal revealed the moment she received the call from Patterson telling her that she had won:

“I’m still pinching myself this entire time. When he called to say that I won I just screamed! I was so excited!”

Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, Christina Aguilera and James Patterson are among the instructors providing exclusive courses with MasterClass.

Throughout the year, students can participate in class exercises, connect with a likeminded community and submit work to their instructors for feedback.

Award-winning filmmaker Werner Herzog recently joined MasterClass and will provide a film course this summer which is now open for registration. All the courses on MasterClass cost just $90 providing students with an affordable online program that doesn’t break the bank.
