Both Michelle Williams and Meryl Streep take on the roles of leading international figures. One, a beautiful, elegant and much loved actress: Marilyn Monroe who was one of the biggest icons in motion picture history. The other, a defiant woman with the strength to move a nation through war and hardship: Margaret Thatcher, The former Prime Minister of the UK.
Both these leading actresses achieved such grace in defining their characters. Monroe’s character portrayed by Michelle Williams captivated her flaws, her charisma and her and indulgence in an industry filled with controversy and splendour. Merly Streep’s exhaustive research and approach to mannerisms, and the way Tatcher spoke was powerful and gripping. It’s going to be a difficult decision to say no to either of them.
Also competing in this category are talented actresses Glenn Close, Viol Davis and Rooney Mara.
