Osama Bin Laden to debut in Bollywood movie

The story of a young TV journalist who turns an encounter with an Osama Bin Laden lookalike into his journey to fame will be released this summer in India.

Director Abhishek Sharma told Reuters Tere Bin Laden (Without You Laden) will, Give a fresh perspective to the repercussions of 9/11 that a lot of people are facing but I want to do it through humor. The satire, which was shot on a low budget, comes at a time when the Bollywood film industry faces a slump due to a string of box office flops. Other controversial films based around 911 have come out over the past year including My Name is Khan , starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Jewish groups recently protested a Bollywood film that was to be made by a first time director that tells the story of Hitler s love for India, and how his contributions indirectly helped Indian Independence.

Due to the sensitive nature of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Tere Bin Laden , will be released a month later in the US after it runs in India, Pakistan and the UK.
