Predator reboot announced : Can Arnold Schwarzenegger do it?

20th Century Fox has hired 'Iron Man 3' director Shane Black to write the screenplay for the new 'Predator' reboot and fans will want to know whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will be part of the ensemble cast.

It was back in 1987 that the original movie first hit cinema screens with Arnie leading a team of elite, bad-ass commandos into a thick jungle to extract a member of the CIA held captive. As the story evolves, we are introduced to an alien warrior who's hell bent on hunting and killing anyone in his path.

Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) soon becomes the prey as the Predator takes out members of his team one-by-one, in what can only be described as a cult action classic, directed by John McTiernan (Die Hard).

It was after 'Terminator' that Arnie became an international action star in 1984, and subsequently cemented his global image during the early 90s in a range of action movies from 'Total Recall' to 'Terminator 2'. But after an 8-year spell as Governor of California from 2003 to 2011, the actor isn't exactly the young Mr Universe he once was.

Despite that, Schwarzenegger has continued to star in action movies, most recently opposite Sly Stallone in 'The Expendables 3', that will hit theaters later this summer.

Given that Schwarzenegger is approaching 67, and that he's doing 'Terminator 5', should we expect him to play at least a cameo role in the Predator reboot?

No release date has yet been confirmed but it may coincide with the 30-year anniversary of Predator which would push this to mid 2017.
