Disney wins big with The Avengers

Disney is set to sail past the $1 billion domestic earnings mark today thanks to the global success of ‘The Avengers’.

According to Deadline, Disney will be the first Hollywood studio to reach the $1 billion earnings mark this year giving it a significant morale boost as it breaks its own previous earnings record.

The worldwide success of ‘The Avengers’ has made it one of the biggest motion pictures in history. With a domestic haul of more than $600 million and an international total (including the US) of $1.4 billion, a sequel has already been announced.

Disney have managed to sail past the competition with Marvel’s success and as the film industry experiences a superhero boom, we can only anticipate that Avengers 2 and 3 will be a hot topic of discussion.

If they were smart, they would have made the sequel at the
same time like many of the other studios are doing now.  With Iron Man 3 slated right afterward
though, I can see why they didn’t.  They
have room for an even larger budget though after introducing Thanos, a
formidable foe.  In order to hold me over,
I started watching the two “Ultimate Avengers” animated movies I found on Dish
Online one day when my Dish co-worker was rummaging around there.  I realized I can search for a movie there and
order it for my DVR and watch on my TV.
That way of searching is much easier and I’m getting primed for the new
    movie too.
