LONDON- The free-to-enter competition, presented by PRS for Music, is challenging student and graduate filmmakers to create their own imaginative 90-second cinematic interpretation of a famous musical quote, song lyric or song title.

Short films will be accepted across all genres from feature, documentary, sci-fi, horror, drama, animation, experimental or hybrid, just as long as PRS for Music production music tracks or sound effects are used.

Films must be submitted by the 18th December 2009, with the winner announced in January 2010. The prize? £1,000 cash.

PRS is committed to helping filmmakers

MCPS (part of the PRS for Music group) has announced some stunning deals for filmmakers wishing to license music in their productions. Thanks to a community of 160 established music libraries, over 300,000 pre-cleared quality tracks and sound effects are available for specific use in film.

Rates for Student Films start at just £5; music for Short Films can be as little as £35 and for those lucky enough to have Feature Film budgets of £3 million, there is even a capped buy-out rate of £5,000.
