'Seal Team Six: The Raid On Osama Bin Laden' will air on The National Geographic Channel this November 4th, just 48 hours before the 2012 Presidential Election.

The movie, produced by Nicolas Chartier ( 'The Hurt Locker') and Harvey Weinstein will reveal the complicated search for Osama Bin Laden and the eventual raid carried out on his compound in Pakistan.

The killing of Bin Laden was one of President Obama's highest foreign policy victories, and the TV film's release, just ahead of election day will likely warrant close attention from critics, sympathisers and conspiracy theorists.

Although the timing could be argued as politically motivated it is unlikely to have much effect on the outcome of the election as the raid has already been widely debated in American politics. The raid however still leaves many unanswered questions: Could Bin Laden have been captured alive? Was there another way to get to him without the team going in? If Pakistan had been made aware of the raid, would they have captured him alive?

It's one of the defining moments in America's 'war on terror', and this is the first major film to tackle the risky raid in full.
