Shrek 3

[picappgallerysingle id="4875930"]I rented the movie Shrek 3 or Shrek The Third over the past weekend, simply because I haven’t yet seen it and because I generally enjoyed Shrek 2, another reason is because the fourth Shrek movie’s coming out in early May. For some reason there was something lacking in this movie as opposed to the previous two movies, like the characters didn’t quite mesh well with the others and it seemed quite obvious. In this Shrek movie the entire cast returns also including a new character named Arthur.

Princess Fiona and the ogre Shrek have several problems in the movie, Fiona’s father turned frog and former King of Far Far Away eventually dies and it’s now in Shrek’s hands to represent Far Far Away as the new king. However Shrek isn’t really all that accepting to take the throne as King of Far Far Away as he’s pretty frightened to do so instead he attempts to replace himself with someone else, it’s in fact a teenage boy named Arthur that he selects. It’s up to Puss in Boots, the donkey, and Shrek to track down Artie, there’s another conflict in the way though, the fairy godmother’s son Prince Charming wants to take back the throne of Far Far Away since he was in fact promised to retrieve it and he’s not looking to go down without a fight to get it either. Fiona and all of the other fairy tale princesses have been abducted while on the other hand Shrek’s life’s in jeopardy, they need everything to go according to plan in which they must save Shrek just in time to crown Arthur as the king of Far Far Away.

Shrek the Third was a fairly decent movie it did have some decent comedic moments and or jokes, enjoyable cast of characters, beautiful animations. It was also great how they added in Merlin the magician he was a fairly decent spoof. The one thing that really sticks out to me and still does is the lack of cohesion amongst the characters they didn’t mesh as well in this movie as they did in the first two movies. I would however recommend this movie to any family that loves interested animated movies because they can and will enjoy this movie just like they did the first two, but probably not as much. Many might disagree with me on this one, just because they feel like it’s missing some key elements that made the previous movie’s hits.
