Steven Seagal beats Justin Bieber in online movie ratings

Putting Steven Seagal and Justin Bieber together in a contest just sounds absurd, but when it comes to their movies, one of them is a clear winner in ratings.

The famous IMDB polls are often viewed as an accurate overall opinion of public audiences on movies. You would think that with a large number of votes, and an average rating derived from that, you get a clear picture of how good or bad a film is.

Think again.

Take a look at Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never', a box office success and hit with his many fans, even with those who don't like him. If you look today at the rating it received from nearly 40,000 votes, it got 1.3/10. That is shockingly bad, so bad that if it was in IMDB's top worst 100 movies of all time, it would rank joint first, but they haven't added it.

Now compare that rating to what is deemed to be Steven Seagal's worst film of all time: 'Ticker'. This painfully bad movie was so dreadful even Seagal couldn't believe he was in it. Well, it got a comfortable 3.3 out of 10.

Why did I bring this up? Well, you can never trust the accuracy of online polls for movies. The best thing to do is go with your gut whether you hate Seagal and Bieber or not. Even great movies sometimes get poor ratings because a large group of people get together and decide to 'hate' on it. However, I wouldn't necessarily advise you to swear allegiance to Seagal just yet. Let's just there is a reason his movies go straight to DVD.
