‘Parks and Recreation’ producer Harris Wittels has been found dead at his Los Angeles home.
According to TMZ, Wittels was pronounced dead at the scene at 1pm local time. The producer had a history of drug problems but had recently made a public appearance at an LA Comedy club where he claimed he had become clean and sober.
The 30-year-old was a producer for the popular TV series ‘Parks and Recreation’, which will be finishing its last season this year. Wittels was also known for his work on ‘Eastbound & Down’ and ‘Secret Girlfriend’ and had acted in a variety of TV movies and short films. He also directed the short film ‘A Badger’s Promise’ which was completed in 2013.
Deadline reports that the producer may have suffered from an overdose, however the coroner has yet to establish the cause of death.
