US Congress members to attend Henry Ford IMAX D-Day screening

In honor of the 70th anniversary of D-Day, The Henry Ford IMAX Theatre will host a special free screening of D-Day 3D: Normandy 1944 for veterans, active military and their guests on Friday, June 6th at 1:00 pm. The free screening will include remarks by WWII veteran and U.S. Representative John Dingell and Senator Carl Levin, Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, prior to the start of the movie.

Narrated by renowned journalist and author Tom Brokaw, D-DAY 3D: Normandy 1944 is a Giant Screen documentary that provides a new, penetrating look at this defining moment in history in a truly unique manner. Blending multiple cinematographic formats, including animation, CGI and stunning live-action images, D-DAY 3D: Normandy 1944 brings this monumental event to Michigan’s largest screen. Exploring science, technology, engineering and mathematics, audiences of all ages, including new generations, will discover from a new perspective—in breathtaking 15-perforation/70mm IMAX 3D film—how this landing changed the course of history.

From Memorial Day Weekend (Sat. May 24) through the weekend of July 4 (Sun. July 6), The Henry Ford will be commemorating and celebrating the brave men and women of the US Armed Forces with several unique and inspiring events including Civil War Remembrance in Greenfield Village May 24-26 and Salute to America in Greenfield Village, July 2-5.
Seating for the free screening is limited and registration is required.

Attendees are required to bring proof of military service with registration confirmation. Guests are limited to four per one veteran/active military person so that The Henry Ford can accommodate as many servicemen and women as possible.
