When are we going to see the Muppets 2?

Posted by FIN Staff on December 4, 2011

It looks like The Muppets are here to stay this Christmas season as they remain in the top 10 of this week’s box office chart with now over $55 million in receipts. So will our furry puppet friends get another outing any time soon?

Fans of The Muppets have been flocking to screens every since it’s strong opening, just behind the unstoppable ‘Twilight Saga : Breaking Dawn Part 1′ overload. With Miss Piggy, Kermit The Frog, some crazy adventure and a big family of puppet characters we’ve seen time and time again, it almost seemed tiresome to even think about another Muppets movie. But for kids, these movies are a magical outing, and a larger than life adventure, so expect to see more Muppets fun in the future.

Have you seen ‘The Muppets’? What did you think of the film and the idea of Disney making The Muppets 2 or even 3? Was the hype real or is this just old news?

  1. “As of February 5, 2012, the film has since grossed $87,476,727 in North America and has a worldwide total $122,576,727 worldwide” – Wikipedia

I’m fairly certain (and Jonathon should agree) that we should expect to see a sequel

  2. Uh, there’s not going to be a sequel. The movie plummeted 62% in its second weekend. It’s only made a skimpy 60 million worldwide so far, and the film needs to make at least 3 times its budget (reportedly 90 million, counting print and advertising) just to break even. If the merchandising doesn’t help make up for that shortfall, the Muppets comeback is dead.
