For the first time ever Star Trek fans will have the chance to be part of motion picture history in “Star Trek Beyond.”
The cast of the previous two Star Trek movies are asking fans of the franchise to join them on the set in Vancouver as they make the next outing. Teaming up with Omaze, actors such as Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban and Simon Pegg took part in the special call-to-action video that is asking for donations to help raise money for 9 non-profit organizations including Make a Wish Foundation.
Depending on how much you donate, you can walk away with a host of rewards. The list includes:
- Original Star Trek Beyond concept art
- Autographed Star Trek Beyond memorabilia
- Advanced screenings
- A full replica of the Enterprise Captain’s Chair
The winner of the contest will get to stay in a 4 star hotel in Vancouver and feature in the movie opposite the main cast.
Following the release of the teaser, Idris Elba’s surprise appearance confirmed rumors that the actor was part of the upcoming ensemble.
At Comic-Con William Shatner was asked whether he would be starring in the next film, but managed to carefully avoid the question with another. It is widely expected that there will be a surprise cameo by member of the former Star Trek series but producers have been tight lipped about who that could be.
With the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek next year, fans are anticipating a big surprise. For now, there’s the opportunity to be in the film for the first time, and that’s already a great start.
